Classroom
Why Classroom?
"Creating, copying, assigning, supervising, collecting, grading, recording, and returning work to students is a process requiring a great deal of time and steps. Classroom simplifies these tasks by combining, eliminating, or organizing, them for you."
- Jordan Catapano, Technology in the Classroom |

Organization
Google Classroom acts as a central dashboard where teachers can create and distribute assignments, send feedback, and assess student progress, all in one spot. Similarly, the structure of Classroom provides students with an opportunity to view announcements, participate in collaborative chats, and work on and revise assignments, in one place.

Assignments
The ability to create paperless assignments within Google Classroom is quite simple and intuitive. Instructors are able to customize many features that will allow students to turn in assignments in a productive and efficient manner. Watch our video to learn how.

Marking Assignments
Because assignments are handed in electronically without paper, Classroom provides an intuitive design which allows teachers to have access to their students' docs in order to give formative assessment, as well as the ability to give grades for summative assessment. Students are also able to indicate that their assignments are complete by clicking the "turn in button". If they need to make assignment adjustments, they can "unsubmit", make some changes on work, and resubmit it.

Classroom & Google Calendar
Of particular interest is how Google Classroom integrates with Google Calendar.
When a new course is created, Google Classroom automatically creates a course calendar. Assignment due dates appear in the calendar, and when students are enrolled in several Google Classroom courses, they can easily access the built-in calendar to see due dates in one place. |

SHARING TO CLASSROOM FROM OUTSIDE APPS
"With the Classroom mobile app for Android and iOS, students can now share to Classroom from other apps, making it a breeze to add things - like diagrams and flash cards - to assignments." (Google for Education, 2015)
